Sandeep Jethwa and his family decided that instead of going to a European destination they would go long haul and revisit Singapore for a short 4 day stop over followed by Koh Samui in Thailand. Singapore is a long flight away from London 12 hours approximately. But its well worth the visit and its then only an hour and 40 minutes to Koh Samui.

Sandeep Jethwa and his family took the long flight and arrived tired and hungry at the Sofitel So Singapore which is a boutique down town hotel close to the Singapore flyer  which is a lovely observation wheel that allows you to capture nice photos of the skyline. The hotel was really nice and opposite was a Hawkers market which is a market serving lots of different local food such as chilli crab, satay chicken and Indian cuisine amongst others.

He loved the food there and during the short break visited the must do things while your in Singapore. These included the Night Safari at Singapore Zoo, Universal Studios and the Sky Gardens. Its a great place to go if you have kids and his Son really enjoyed himself spotting the animals at night in the zoo, going on the latest rides at Universal and climbing upto the sky garden and enjoying looking at all the different varieties of tropical plants.

After a hot long day it was nice to relax in the roof top pool and bar in the So Sofitel hotel.

The four days went so quickly that before they knew it was time for Sandeep Jethwa and his family to pack their bags and head off to the airport for their next adventure in Koh Samui.

Sandeep Jethwa had booked a luxury apartment this time  in Koh Samui near the Big Buddha which is a landmark in the Island. After a short flight and a taxi they arrived at the apartment which was a modern 4 bedroom penthouse with fantastic views of the island. With the fridge fully stocked with fresh fruit, beer and food they relaxed and then planned their next few days on the island.

Ko Samui, Thailand’s second largest island, lies in the Gulf of Thailand off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus. It's known for its palm-fringed beaches, coconut groves and dense, mountainous rain forest, plus luxury resorts and posh spas. The landmark 12m-tall golden Big Buddha statue at Wat Phra Yai Temple is located on a tiny island connected to Ko Samui by a causeway.

Sandeep Jethwa took his family to visit the big Buddha statue which is even larger when you are close up to it!  They then spent a whole day on one of the public beaches not far from the apartment relaxing in a local pub on the beach watching their children playing in the golden sand.

The next day Sandeep and his family took a boat to bottle beach which is located on one of the small islands about 30 min away from Koh Samui, and enjoyed some snorkling and delicious seafood freshly caught by the local fisherman.

The island where bottle beach  is located is  also a site of the famous full moon parties. Sandeep Jethwa and his family didnt try the full moon party!

The next few days were spent exploring the island and shopping at Chawang Beach, Chawang beach is the busiest part of the island and has lots of restaurants and bars and shops to occupy your time .

Time flew by and before they knew it Sandeep Jethwa and his family were boarding the flight back to London. After 14 hours of flying they arrived tired back to their home in London.

What a great adventure!
